How I wish some sayings are true

When I was in grade school, 4th grade to be exact, my teacher asked some students to report about heavenly bodies. Unfortunately, I’m one of them. But then I gladly accepted the offer. Not to mention that that was my first time to do some reporting in front of the class. I also wanted to see if I can pull it off.

The actual encyclopedia we used years ago

On my way home, all I think about is my topic. How do I deliver it in front of my classmates when I know nothing much about comets? Yes, my topic is about comet that happened to be my most unforgettable topic. Before the day ended, I asked my mom to help me out regarding my report. Then she went straight to our bookshelf to get an encyclopedia. Then we started reading it. I learned so much about comets; its parts, movement, speed, and how it shines brightly in the sky. I was amazed, as if everyone in the world is looking up to the arrival of that one little comet in the sky, like a shooting star! And she continued reading it. The book mentioned that the next comet will appear on 2061, and the world will be able to see it for a couple of seconds, like once in a life time moment!  So I computed what would be my age by that time. I got shivers! I told my mom with overflowing excitement that WE HAVE TO SEE THAT COMET! WE HAVE TO! WE MUST! But I didn’t get any reply, not a single word from her.

Silence struck.

I was suddenly stunned for a second. Then the moment I snapped out of it, I started calculating again. I looked at my mom, seriously writing my report.

2061: I’m already 70 years of age.
